I walk this land, the land I love it’s valleys, it’s beaches, the mountains above.
I walk this land from end to end, and all of it’s people I call them my friend.
When I’m away from this land I love, I close my eyes and in my mind, the valleys the beaches and mountains I find
And when God above calls me to rest, lay my body beneath this land the land I love best.
When my family and friends cry tears of my tales they’ll know I’m close by beneath this land they call Wales.
David Taylor.
When I was about eight or nine, we were told this old Welsh legend in school, It is about a Welsh prince Llewellyn and his faithful greyhound Gelert.
This story made me cry as a child, I am now 46,and have a daughter of 20,and a son of 8. My son Evan attends a Welsh school, and he has recently been told the same story, he also had tears in his eyes. I would like to share this with you.
